The Very Early Morning Face

*shakes fist as this post didn’t go up yesterday as scheduled*

Getting up before 10 was once considered an early morning for me, but times have changed changed. 7am starts have become the norm, even on weekends, so I’ve developed a quick, but still ‘done up’, makeup routine for mornings when my eyes are still half closed.

I start off with NARS Sheer Glow, as usual, as it’s not too heavy but provides good coverage, and I usually don’t have time to do a full concealer routine. A slick of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer under the eyes and on blemishes covers everything I need it to. I’ve fallen in love with cream blushes, and No. 7 Pop & Glow in Mango Sorbet is the perfect spring blush. Bonus points for this product as no brush is needed for blending. MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Vintage Selection has been mentioned around these parts many times before, but I just love it so much as one swipe over the lid makes it look like you’ve spent longer on your makeup than you really have. Mascara, of course, is an essential and Maybelline Big Eyes is my current go-to mascara as it’s easy to apply and gives great length and volume. Anastasia Brow Wiz has made filling in brows so easy, I couldn’t go without it, even on early mornings. Benefit Hoola bronzer gives the face a lovely bit of colour and definition, and isn’t orangey at all. To seal everything in place, as usual, I use MAC Mineralise SkinFinish in Light.

What’s your favourite product for early morning makeup application?

I love the benefit hoola bronzer, definite favourite in my makeup bag! I love the colour of that No. 7 pop and glow, do you have any photo’s of it on? I am very tempted to go to boots and have a look at this!

    Love this!

I think my go to thing now to make me look awake is the Urban decay eye primer ‘Eden’

Luckily I have just the right skin tone to use it as an under eye concealer too! Makes my eyes look way better and give the illusion to the kids at school that their teaching is awake! Haha!

I’ve recently had to develop a quick and easy makeup routine since finals week is coming quickly around the corner and I’m loving cream blushes too. You should definitely try the NYX ones if you haven’t already. I love Boho Chic and Glow. Thanks for reminding me about the Anastasia brow wiz too! I’ve been meaning to pick up a new one, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. It’s probably my favorite for quick makeup looks because everything you need is in one product!

I’ve just tried one NYX cream blush, I’d love to try more! Thanks for the suggestions! It’s such a great product, definitely worth repurchasing! xx
