Night Out Handbag Essentials

Image

Changing my handbag is by no means my favourite thing to do. Transferring everything over from one bag to another is more work than you’d think, and I always leave something essential in a hidden pocket of my bag by mistake. But nights out call for a change of bag, as I don’t particularly fancy carrying a large bag around all night, or having to hold my phone and purse. Here are my essentials when it comes to a night out, my phone isn’t pictured as I was using it to take the picture, and I forgot to add my keys in to the photo. Oops. Otherwise, this is everything I’d bring with me.

A clutch bag is something I’ve only started to use, but I absolutely love them. This one from Penneys holds absolutely everything I need, and matches most outfits. The faux leather is really soft, and the gold bar gives it a more dressy feel.  I don’t like bringing my Marc Jacobs purse with me on a night out for fear of losing it, but this one from Topshop is a pretty good substitute. False eyelashes are a night-out essential for me, I never leave the house without my DUO Eyelash Glue. Nothing is worse than when one of your eyelashes starts falling off when you’re on the dance floor – not a good look. I bring mascara with me incase my hand isn’t as steady as it usually is and my eyelashes fall off completely. There’s no hope of me putting my eyelashes back on in a cramped bathroom, so this mascara from Soap & Glory does a pretty good job at giving my eyelashes length and volume in one sweep. We all know the feeling of being in a nightclub packed with hundreds of sweaty people (lovely, I know), and when you go to check your makeup you see that it has all rubbed off. That’s where powder comes in handy, Mineralise Skin Finish from MAC and Real Techniques buffing brush work well together to get rid of shine and touch up where I need it. I don’t often find myself reaching for powder on a nigh out, as my makeup has pretty good staying powder, but I bring it just incase. Whether it be for day or night, lipstick and lipgloss are always handbag essentials for me. MAC Hue is usually my colour of choice as it’s easy to apply and doesn’t fade like a brightly coloured lipstick would. Lipgloss is a quick-fix to give my lips shine, Revlon’s Peony lipgloss is becoming a favourite of mine for shine and colour. The last, but certainly not least, thing I bring with me on a night out is flat shoes. I don’t know what I’d do without them. I’m pretty good at lasting all night in heels, but slipping these studded pumps from Topshop on while sitting in a taxi on the way home is one of the best feelings in the world for me.

If you’ve any night out handbag essentials that I’ve missed, please leave them below as I’d love to read them!

I have the same lip gloss from Revlon. I love it! 🙂 It’s my favorite.

Yeah! It looks really natural too – it’s like the perfect accent.
