The Everyday Makeup Drawer

Image

After finally getting my hands on acrylic makeup storage, finding a way to organise all of my makeup in it proved pretty difficult. Should I have one drawer just for MAC? Another just for palettes? I tried a few different combinations, but found that organising my products by how often I use them works the best. Hence, the everyday makeup drawer.

Some of the products I use everyday like mascara, brow pencil, liquid eyeliner and foundation don’t actually fit in the drawer, but sit on top on the unit. So we’ll just ignore them for the minute…

The products that do fit in the drawer however, are all firm favourites and each of them get used most days. Sometimes I swap the lip and cheek colours, otherwise it stays pretty much the same.

MAC Mineralise SkinFinish in Light and Soft and Gentle are my favourite powder and highlighter. I’ve had the powder for nearly a year and have used it liberally nearly every day, and it still hasn’t hit pan! As for Soft and Gentle, I only use a tiny bit of this at a time, so I can see it lasting years. My ultimate go-to eyeshadow type product is MAC ProLongWear Paint Pot in Vintage Selection. It’s a light, shimmery browny-gold that just needs to be dabbed on using fingertips – easy peasy for early mornings. MAC Eyeshadow in Woodwinked is another easy eye product, just smear it all over the lid and blend into the crease and voila you’re done. I’ve been loving cream blushes lately, and No7 Pop & Glow in Mango Sorbet and MAC Casual Lip and Cheek Colour in Keep It Loose are my current favourites. They’re easy to apply and look great, especially in the summer. MAC Studio Finish Concealer is my saviour for really red blemishes. It conceals them like no other and lasts all day. As for under eye concealer, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my holy grail. It conceals redness and spots, and is so smooth and gives great coverage under the eye. I can’t rave enough about this stuff! My latest lip product love is Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in Demure. It’s the perfect everyday nude, with a hint of shimmer and loads of shine.

Apologies for the MAC takeover, I didn’t realise that I use that many MAC products a day!

I adore checking out people’s makeup collections. Even just a smidgen of it. Where did you get your acrylic storage from?

I got it on ebay, just search acrylic makeup storage and you should get loads of options! I wrote a whole post on it if you want to see the exact ones 🙂 x

I need to check out some new storage options! I have almost zero counter space and my makeup drawer is over flowing again!
