10 Minute Makeup

Image

As much as I love taking my time doing my makeup and trying new things, in reality it’s a different story. More often than not I’m rushing, and don’t have time to spend 20 minutes trying to do a cat-eye flick. Here are the products I use when I’m running out the door (read: nearly every day) and that give the result that I’ve spent longer doing my makeup than I actually have. Well I hope that’s the result, anyway…

Ruby & Millie eyelash curler – Using this helps make my peepers look wide awake, and shortens mascara application time.

Naked 1 palette – Don’t worry, I’m not going to try to master a smoky eye in five minutes. I use the shade Buck to fill in my eyebrows. I couldn’t skip this step, as my makeup just doesn’t look complete without it. The powder makes it really quick and easy to apply though, you can’t go too wrong with it.

L’Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Waterproof mascara – This mascara lengthens, separates and volumises my eyelashes in one sweep. It lasts all day and doesn’t smudge on bottom lashes too.

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer – This step is detrimental. I apply it under my eyes and on blemishes, resulting in full coverage that is long lasting.

Collection Colour Lash – I use this clear mascara as a brow gel to keep them in place, and save me having to brush them. This all sounds incredibly weird, considering that I’m talking about eyebrows, not the hair on my head. When did eyebrows become such a big deal?!

NYX Stick Blush in Pink Lotus – If you’re really in a rush, blush isn’t probably necessary as chances are your cheeks will be flushed anyway. This cream blush from NYX is really easy to apply, I just blend it in using my fingers. It also doubles up as a pretty pink lip colour, saving time rooting for a lipstick!

MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Light – I always apply a bit of powder to keep shine at bay, I especially need it when I’m running out the door.

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Vintage Selection – No brushes are needed to apply this, I just dunk my finger in the pot and smear it on my lids and I’m ready to go.

Bobbi Brown BB Cream in Light – When I’m rushing I usually don’t have time to moisturise, so using a BB cream is the perfect alternative. This Bobbi Brown BB cream contains SPF 35, is moisturising and has pretty good coverage – what more could a girl want?!

It’s ironic that as I write this post, I’m rushing. Time is of the essence, right?!

I use the collection mascara for my brows too. It sets them really well, and they always look much better with it! I love the look of the nyx blush stick, but I can’t get nyx in the UK! X

it’s such a good product! It’s really cheap too! I bought my NYX stuff when I was in New York, although I know you can buy some on eBay! You should have a look, their stuff is really good 🙂 xx

I need to master a routine like this. Normally I give myself enough time to do anything id like to so I barely remember how to be simple anymore 🙂

it takes time, trust me haha! Having a quick routine means a few more minutes in bed, which is always good in my eyes! x

Yes! Thank you for this article. Great to read other bloggers may not have the luxury of more than 10 mins of makeup time each day. I have never filled my eyebrows before, what do you suggest to start with? xo -ellese http://rockpaperglam.com/

I’m glad you liked it! I just don’t have the time to spend 45 minutes on my makeup everyday, although I wish I did! I’ve tried a few eyebrow products but have found that powders work best for me. I usually use an eyeshadow, they do the job well! MAC have a great range of shades, although I’m sure that the drugstore do as well! I use my MAC 216 brush to fill them in, it’s angled and makes filling them in so easy! I’ve heard fantastic things about the Anastasia Brow Wiz, which I’d love to try out. It’s just about finding what works for you really!! x
