Favourite Four | MAC Eyeshadows

When it comes to makeup, MAC can do no wrong in my eyes. It was the first high end makeup brand I’ve ever tried, and remains my favourite to this day. So, as you can imagine, as a self-confessed makeup addict I’ve collected quite a few MAC products over the years. Here are my four favourite MAC eyeshadows, as you can tell I like to keep in the neutral/brown category.

Left to right: Satin Taupe, Orb, Naked Lunch, Woodwinked

Satin Taupe – A shimmery brown with a slight purple undertone, Satin Taupe is a fail-safe colour for any evening/night-time occasion. I wouldn’t wear it during the day as it’s a bit too dramatic for me, but it’s a go-to colour for nights out. It looks great all over the lid, in the crease or just to line the bottom lashes.

Orb – Orb is the perfect base for me. It eliminates any eyelid veins (delightful) and really opens up the eye. I like using this on ‘no makeup makeup days’ to give a natural, yet done-up look.

Naked Lunch – One of my more recent purchases, Naked Lunch soon became a firm favourite of mine. Worn on its own with a thin cat-eye flick is my look of choice with this eyeshadow. It isn’t too shimmery or glittery, it’s a perfect pearl shade. When I’m going for a more dramatic eye look I use this to highlight the inner corner of my eye or under the brow bone.

Woodwinked – Last but certainly not least, Woodwinked is my favourite MAC eyeshadow. There, I said it. Commitment made. It is a stunning gold/brown colour that blends out amazingly. Usually I use this eyeshadow on its own and just blend it into the crease. The shimmer disappears as you blend it into the crease, and the colour lightens. This eyeshadow does all the work for you! It gives the perfect blended out look with the sweep of a brush, looking like you’ve spent ages blending different colours and shadows, but yoou didn’t. I won’t tell if you won’t 😉

I bought a MAC eyeshadow quad a few months ago, which I love, but I can’t for the life of me remember the names of the shadows! I have the little slips that the pans came in, but they don’t have their names on them! Does anyone know how I can figure out what they’re called? It would be greatly appreciated!

*Be so good they can’t ignore you*

So believe it or not, I don’t own and Mac eyeshadows. I was always really into Urban Decay and never branched out. I’ve been thinking about picking up 4 Mac colors and putting them in a quad…and these are the colors I want! I only can’t decide if I want Orb or something a bit darker

I totally hear where you’re coming from, UD are my next favourite brand for eye shadows! A quad is a great idea, they’re so handy! I’d recommend maybe getting a matte brown eyeshadow if you’re unsure what fourth colour to get, like Charcoal Brown or Omega. A lot of people use these colours to fill in their eyebrows and they’re great for applying all over the lid or just in the crease! X

I don’t currently have any MAC eye shadows… but my wishlist includes Satin Taupe, Cranberry, Mulch, All That Glitters, and Espresso. 🙂
