My Favourite Cleanser | Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

*shout out to my phone case reflection ruining the picture*

Cleansers – where do I begin? I’ve tried gel cleansers, milk cleansers, mousse cleansers, but my my favourite discovery has been cleansing balms.

Clinique’s Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm has been my holy grail product for the past two months. While originally the idea of a cleansing balm never appealed to me, it’s safe to say that I can never see myself using another type of cleanser again. The idea behind this cleanser is that you simply rub it onto your face to remove makeup. No water or cloths needed. I use less than a tea spoon each time I cleanse my face and it’s more than enough, it removes every trace of makeup, including eye makeup.

The formula is like a wax, similar to solid coconut oil, that melts as soon as your rub it into your face. It isn’t greasy, oily or slippery at all. It literally melts into the skin – divine. After rubbing it all over my face and working it into the skin, I wipe my face with a cloth or cotton bud to get rid of the residue. Unlike gel or mousse moisturisers, which usually dry out my skin, my skin feels soft and plump after using. It doesn’t sting or strip the skin, like most Clinique products it is gentle and isn’t harsh at all. My skin is quite sensitive but hasn’t broken out from using this, even though it’s fairly rich. If anything, I feel that using this product has improved my skin. I usually follow by using Clinique’s Cleansing Toner to tighten my pores and to ensure that every single trace of makeup is gone.

While taking off my makeup was once a chore, I don’t have a problem with it now! Even at 3am after a long night out 😉

If you’re looking for a new cleanser, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try. I’ve had it for over two months and haven’t used even half of the tub yet. It’s definitely worth the price, I can see myself buying this for a long time!

Does that phone case have a picture of a dog on it? I don’t think it ruins the picture, it makes the picture. Also, very nice thorough review. 🙂
