Morning Skincare Routine

When it comes to skincare, I like to keep things pretty simple in the morning. Considering that I’m usually still half asleep while I’m doing it, things have to be pretty straight forward or there could be a real problem. I know that there is probably more that I could be doing for my skin *cough cough SPF*, but this works pretty well for me. And I haven’t included an SPF as I haven’t found the right one yet, but once I do I will report back. My skin is combination, so I like to keep things light and gentle – a bit of moisture, a bit of brightening and a lot of spot clearing.

I use Bioderma Micelle Solution on a cotton bud to wipe off any excess makeup and to cleanse my skin. This is a really important step as it ensures that you’re starting the day with a face free of dirt and residue. I then use Nip n Fab Glycolic Fix pads to refreshen and extra-cleanse the skin. These work to brighten and improve the skin’s appearance also, and create a smooth base for makeup. I rub a squeeze of Effaclar Duo [+] all over my face so it can work away at blemishes and redness throughout the day. Applying moisturiser is something that took me a while to get into, but now I can’t go without it. The citrus scent and lightweight, revitalising feel of Origins Gin Zing moisturiser makes it less of a chore and takes my skin from looking dull to alive.

That’s it! Short and sweet, and easy to do – that’s my skincare routine motto. This takes less than five minutes to do (if you’re going fast) and gives fresh, cleansed skin for the day ahead.

What’s your morning skincare routine?

This looks like a lovely mix of products. Does the Nib and Fab stuff make your skin tingle? I’ve seen them around before and have been thinking about trying them out.

Thank you! It makes my skin tingle slightly, but doesn’t irritate it. My skin is quite sensitive and can be prone to redness but I’ve had no problems with these so far!

hmmm a lot of people use that bioderma I might have to try it out. Is it pricey?

It’s definitely worth trying out! I don’t think it’s too expensive, I ordered it off Escentual.com and it was around €12. You could also get the smaller size just to test it out 🙂
