How To Look Wide Awake When You’re Not

Too many late nights and too many midnight episodes on Netflix can mean only one thing – tired eyes. Unless you have the ability to always look awake, if you do please tell me your secret. Unless I give up watching Netflix and late nights (I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon) I turn to my eye-awakening makeup routine.

Considering that you usually feel tired when you look tired, this routine doesn’t take too much time and not all steps are necessary. But it certainly helps to fake 8 hours sleep when you’ve only had 3!

Starting with an illuminating base , I love MAC Strobe Cream , brightens and illuminates the skin, giving you a lovely glow. A good BB cream , like this one from Bobbi Brown , along with a creamy concealer , like NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer , will hide blemishes and dark circles, huge tell tale signs of a lack of sleep. A pop of cream blush and a sweep of bronzer will add much needed colour to the skin. Using a highlight in the inner corner of the eye will open it up, as will white lineralong the waterline. Wet n Wild have a great formula that’s affordable too. Last, but certainly not least – mascara. Maybelline Big Eyes mascara is perfect for widening the eyes as it includes a brush for the lower lashes too.

I’m exhausted as I write this, so no doubt this will come in handy tomorrow!
