The Valentine’s Day Face ♡

Whether you’re spending February 14th with your other half in a candle-lit Italian, seeing 50 Shades of Grey with the girls, or just carrying on like it’s a normal day, I think this makeup look will suit your occasion. I’ll be working for most of the day, watching the rugby with the boy afterwards, and then heading for dinner, so my makeup is going to have to last me from 8am until 11pm.

If your day will involve getting smoochy with your loved one, or chowing down into a pizza (I’ll be doing both – not at the same time, obviously), a red or statement lip just isn’t practical. So I’m going to stick with a nude lipstick and gloss, and let the eyes do the talking.

I’ll be prepping the skin with the Laura Mercer Hydrating Primer, and then going for full coverage with MAC Studio Fix Foundation. As usual, I’ll use Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to hide dark circles and blemishes. Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink is the perfect glowy blush for the day that’s in it, and a bit of MAC Harmony under the cheekbones and along the temples is all you need for contour and bronzing. My new favourite highlighter, The Balm Mary Lou Manizer, is gorgeous along the top of the cheekbones, in the inner corners of the eye and on top of your Cupid’s bow. A sweep of MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Natural along the t-zone sets everything into place.

For eyes, *angels singing*, it’s the Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette. Nothing else is needed, it’s just so beautiful on its own. I use the lightest colour all over the lid, the cranberry in the crease, gold on the centre of the lid and the deep brown to smoke it out, as suggested by Ms. Tilbury herself. The deep brown is gorgeous to line the lashes with and smudge out. The Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade is HD brows in a pot, and Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is so good that false lashes aren’t needed. That’s a bold statement, but it’s true.

For a killer pout, line and fill the lips with Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob, apply MAC Brave on top and finish with Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Afternoon Tea.

I picked up the false nails with hearts on them from Penneys, so I’ll be wearing them to fully get in the spirit of the day (and it’s an excuse to wear ridiculous nails!)

I hope you’ve a wonderful Valentine’s Day, whatever you’re doing! Make sure you demolish a box of chocolates, even if you have to buy them yourself, it’s necessary!

This is what the makeup looks like on, I took this last Friday before heading out, so apologies for the bad shot!
